Khes is a traditional, thick cotton wrap used by both men and women as protection against harsh winds. Woven from coarse cotton yarn, it typically features dark, chequered designs created by dyeing part of the yarn black before weaving.
This Majnu Khes features the antique billi butho design, originally handwoven in the 19th century in the Sindh–Punjab region. It reflects the region’s enduring traditional aesthetics and craftsmanship. In Punjabi dialect, it is considered a variation of the Chiri pattern.
