This Majnu khes in striking mustard and black is a bold expression of tradition and identity. Woven by women artisans in the northern hills of Pakistan, each thread of this cotton textile carries the story of heritage, care, and craftsmanship.

Majnu khes is known for its signature two-tone check patterns, typically passed down through generations. This version in mustard and black stands out as both modern and timeless, perfect for layering on cold evenings or adorning your living space.

Traditional colour combinations carry distinct names, including pabaro (lotus), billi butho (cat’s face), baaglo (stork), tikaygul (dot and flower), kuthay paer (dog’s paw), and panj gulo (five flowers). The density and quality of a khes are determined by the number of warp threads, which typically range from 2,400 to 4,800 per piece. The finest quality, known as bulbul he chashm (“nightingale eyes”), uses up to five colors in the weft and the highest warp count.

Crafted from Cotton and woven on looms, this khes offers not just warmth but purpose — supporting rural livelihoods and preserving ancestral skills.

Whether you wear it as a shawl, drape it over your sofa, or gift it as an heirloom, this piece is more than fabric — it’s legacy.
